Will Solar Panels Still Work On Cloudy Or Rainy Days?

In recent years, there has been a major rise in the number of solar PV systems installed, especially in the parts of
the world that experience a majority of sunny days throughout the year. Not only has there been an increase in
solar PV system installations here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, but there has been an uptick in other southern
states in the U. S. as well. While there has been an increase in solar PV system installations here in the U. S., the
same is true in South America, South Asia, South Africa, the Mediterranean region, and, of course, Australia.
These geographic areas are set up perfectly for solar, as they experience an abundance of sunny days, which
increases solar production.

You might be wondering about places on Earth that experience a majority of cloudy or rainy days, and we bet you
think that solar panels will not generate power on these days, right? WRONG – solar panels still harvest energy on
cloudy or rainy days as the sun is still out and its’ rays still reach solar panels, although not as efficiently. So don’t
worry if you have cloudy days or even rainy days as your system will still produce energy, which will in turn save
you money on your electric bill!
