The owners wanted rooftop solar not only for their gas station but for the adjoining building housing the convenience store and offices. This project was truly unique because the building and gas station are very close to Sheppard Air Force base, a large training base in the northern suburb of Wichita Falls. While we were designing this project, we found out that we needed special permission not only from the city but also from the Air Force because of the proximity of the installation to USAF facilities. Universal Solar was successful both in securing permission from the base command and in pulling necessary permits from the city and county. Fully familiar with the strict safety codes required for solar generation near stores of flammable material because of our previous gas-station projects, we proceeded with our installation, to the satisfaction of the owners. USS will do whatever it takes to get our customers the solar energy they want, safely and with every regulatory ‘I’ dotted and ‘T’ crossed.
