This complex was built in the 1960s and hence all the electrical work was outdated and not per code. USS worked tirelessly with electrical contractors and with the city inspectors to get everything updated and up to code. Getting all the permits for this project took over six months. Also, the complex rented to tenants on an all-utilities-paid basis, as there was only single meter. USS helped the owners with submetering for individual tenants, which offset the building’s electric consumption dramatically. With regular follow-ups on all fronts to move the contracting and bureaucratic processes along, we will be able to install a 70 kW commercial solar system in the coming year.
